This problem is relatively easy to solve if you pick a number for x. Let's let x=4.

This means that the tree grew 5 feet (60 inches) in 4 years. Which means that every year the tree grew 15 inches.

If we then plug in 4 for x into all the answer choices, you see that only one of the formulas gives you the correct answer.

The answer is A) 60/x
