Join The Army

When you enlist into the US Army, you typically are committing yourself to your country for 8 years. That is frequently broken down to 2-6 years of active duty service followed by time in the Army Reserve while you complete the 8 year commitment. Whether you do 2, 4, or 6 years of active duty depends on your chosen job in the Army, personnel status for the Army, and other factors.

On the following pages, you'll find basic information about the US Army. If you have questions about what you read and want to learn more about joining the US Army or how to have Uncle Sam pay for college credits, you can fill out this form to have an Army recruiter or education expert contact you. You may also want to look in the Forums to see if others have discussed the issue there.

Not everyone can join and become a soldier. Are you sure you can join the US Army?
